Fargo West Rotary supports 3 local projects to promote literacy in the Fargo-Moorhead area. We understand that education and literacy opens doors to employment and economic security.
1.) The Dictionary Project helps our area youth by giving dictionaries to each 3rd grade student in Fargo and West Fargo. They are encouraged to learn how to use a dictionary and add new words to their vocabulary.
2.) Our commuity has a good-sized immigrant population who needs help learning how to read, write and speak English. Our commitment to the ELL program at Carl Ben Eielson Middle School is accomplished through the dedication of our club along with two additional local clubs, Fargo Rotary and FM-AM Rotary.
3.) Project English helps new Americans living in Fargo-Moorhead leanr English by utlizing Rosetta Stone software. Each week Rotarians volunteer their time to teach these new members of our community how to use a computer and navigate the program. Our goal is to help new Americans become productive members of our society.
